Product Review: Dot Com Gift Shop

16:24

The other week I was very lucky to receive some goodies from Dot Com Gift Shop- a wonderful online gift shop selling a wide range of home ware and gifts.

Tins and Tiffin Teddies!

The first product I will be looking at are these beautiful regency cake tins, which come as a set of three. Each tin is a different size which makes them perfect for storing various goods including cakes, biscuits, sweets and chocolates. The tins are made from metal (don't ask me what type!) which is fairly standard, and each tin fits nicely inside the next-perfect for storing them away when not in use! Not only are they great for storing your cakes and biscuits, but also for hiding away all those random bits and bobs that you don't know what to do with!

I also got sent these cute heart shaped measuring spoons-one set for small measures such as a teaspoon, and another set for measuring cups-very handy when following American recipes! The spoons are all attached with a small ring, and like the cake tins they fit nicely inside each other for storing away when not in use. The heart shape spoon does make them a little difficult to use, especially for measuring certain ingredients (such as golden syrup!) but they are still a handy tool and make a very pretty addition to any kitchen! Further more, if you're stuck for gift ideas for a foodie friend, these spoons make the perfect gift.

Now if you read my last post, you will have seen the rose shaped shortbread biscuits I made using this fantastic chocolate mould from Dot Com Gift Shop. As I discovered, it doesn't just have to be used for making chocolates. Infact, I think it is actually better suited to baking little biscuits and cakes as I feel the mould is slightly on the large size for creating delicate chocolates.

I also received a heart shaped silicone mould, which is great for making filled chocolates as it is deep enough to get a decent amount of filling inside! I had a go at making milk chocolate pralines which popped out the mould like a dream once set.

Both moulds are oven and dishwasher safe, flexible, and non-stick.  They really are great for making a variety of products, especially if you want to create something that looks a little different from the norm- why not see for yourself?
